Job summary

Our Lady & St Hubert’s Catholic Primary School is seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEND, including SEMH, ASD, and speech and language needs. The role is part of the Emmaus Catholic Multi Academy Company and involves contributing to learning plans and a positive school environment.

You will work 32.5 hours per week across 39 weeks, support EHCPs, and help maintain a safe, inclusive space for pupils and families, within a Catholic ethos.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children with SEND, especially in SEMH contexts.
• Demonstrated empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour in a calm, proactive, and supportive manner.
• Team player committed to ongoing professional development.
• Committed to inclusion and supportive of the Catholic ethos and values of the school.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted support for pupils with ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, and SEMH challenges.
• Assist in implementing EHCPs and individual learning plans.
• Use a range of communication tools and de‑escalation strategies to support emotional regulation and engagement.
• Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
