Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school on a full-time temporary basis. You will support pupils with SEND and SEMH needs, working with teachers and the SENCO to enable access to learning and build confidence.

The role involves 1:1 and small group support, promoting engagement, helping with planning and delivering tailored activities, and monitoring progress to inform reviews and support plans.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND and SEMH needs.
• Experience in a primary school setting.
• Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient approach.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND and SEMH needs.
• Supporting pupils inside and outside the classroom to promote engagement and positive behaviour.
• Assisting with planning and delivery of tailored learning activities.
• Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• Monitoring pupil progress and contributing to reviews and support plans.
• Promoting a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
