Job summary

The Education Network Birmingham is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to provide whole-class and 1-2-1 support to pupils with Special Educational Needs at a primary school in Wolverhampton.

You will work alongside the class teacher to help pupils access learning, develop confidence and engage in lessons. Experience as a TA or with SEND is highly desirable; the role requires patience, proactivity and strong relationship-building with children.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant or working with pupils with SEND is highly desirable.
  • Patience, proactivity and confidence in building relationships with children are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide whole-class Teaching Assistant support.
  • Provide 1-2-1 support for pupils with SEND.
  • Support pupils to access lessons and engage with learning.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to support learning.
  • Help pupils develop confidence, independence and communication skills.
  • Support individual learning targets and interventions.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils.
  • Promote positive behaviour and engagement.
  • Work as part of the wider school and SEND team.
