Job summary

Mulberry Academy Bexhill is seeking staff to provide focused support for students, including those with special educational needs. You will work with teachers to create personalised learning resources, monitor progress and help ensure high attendance and engagement across the curriculum.

Role involves safeguarding responsibilities and contributing to assessments, while maintaining confidentiality and supporting homework and mentoring as required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted support to students with SEND to maximise progress across the curriculum.
• Create an ethos of high aspirations that fits with academy values.
• Maximise achievement and progress of vulnerable students.
• Maintain confidentiality on all academy matters.
• Promote and reinforce good student engagement and attendance.
• Help remove barriers to learning so all students access the curriculum.
• Promote inclusion and acceptance of all students within the classroom.
• Work with the teacher to establish an appropriate learning environment.
• Assist in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/work plans including personalised resources.
• Monitor and record pupils' responses to learning activities against objectives.
• Implement agreed learning activities/teaching programmes and adjust activities as needed.
• Keep and update records as directed and contribute to reviews of systems/records.
• Contribute to formative assessment of student progress.
• Support administration of assessments and external exams as directed.
• Be aware of and comply with safeguarding policies and procedures.
