Job summary

Rydon Primary School is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant to provide SEND support for Year 5 pupils. The role involves working with teachers, the SENDCo and staff to help pupils access the curriculum and develop independence within an inclusive setting.

You will support pupils with EHCPs and provide individual and small-group assistance, fostering positive relationships and contributing to a nurturing learning environment. This is a fixed-term post linked to funding and pupil needs.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND in a classroom setting.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with SEND to access learning and make progress within the classroom.
• Providing individual and small-group support according to pupils' needs.
• Implementing strategies and interventions identified in EHCPs and individual support plans.
• Supporting pupils' emotional, social and communication needs.
• Encouraging independence, confidence and positive engagement in learning.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, the SENDCo and other professionals to ensure pupils receive appropriate support.
• Helping to create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
