Job summary

YMCA East Surrey is recruiting a SEND Learning Support Assistant to join our CYP - Disability Services team. The role supports learners with disabilities in an Alternative Education provision, operating 32.5 hours per week, term-time only, with start ASAP.

You will work as part of a team to deliver high-quality services, ensure safety and safeguarding compliance, and help learners achieve positive outcomes through a varied timetable of life skills and wellbeing activities.

Qualifications

• Relevant training in positive behaviour management, positive touch and epilepsy.
• Willingness to complete Safeguarding Children/Adults and Food Hygiene training.

Responsibilities

• Participate in safe delivery of YMCA East Surrey Alternative Provision service.
• Work with Learning Support Assistants and volunteers to ensure high-quality provision.
• Ensure Health and Safety and Safeguarding policies are adhered to.
• Support learners with life skills, training, community and wellbeing activities.
• Record and evidence learning actions for Asdan module work.
• Supervise activity environment ensuring safety for all learners.
• Provide and supervise refreshments for children/young people.
