Job summary
Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltd in Knowsley is seeking a full-time SEND Support Assistant to help pupils with a range of additional needs throughout the school day. Qualifications
- Previous SEND Teaching Assistant experience is highly relevant.
- Candidates from Learning Disability Support, Children's Care, Residential Care, Healthcare, Youth Work, Autism Support, or Community Support backgrounds are welcome.
- Experience with assistive technology or alternative communication approaches is useful.
Responsibilities
- Support an individual pupil during classroom activities.
- Help a small group practise a skill.
- Support mobility and physical needs.
- Provide personal care sensitively and respectfully.
- Help a pupil regulate after a difficult moment.
- Encourage independent choices and activities.
- Follow individual support and learning plans.
- Record observations and progress.
- Work alongside teachers, therapists and other professionals.
