Job summary

Aspire People is hiring an Additional Needs Support Assistant to work with pupils with SLD, PMLD and autism in a specialist SEND school. You will support learners 1:1 and in small groups, adapt activities, and help with personal care and therapy programmes.

Role includes promoting communication using Makaton, PECS and assistive tech, and collaborating with staff, parents, and external professionals to support independent living skills for Post-16 pupils.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND.
• Ability to adapt activities for individual needs.
• Experience with behaviour support and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups with learning activities.
• Adapt planned activities to individual needs and abilities.
• Assist with personal care (toileting, dressing, eating).
• Support therapy programmes and administer medication after training.
