Aspire People is seeking an Additional Needs Support Assistant for a specialist SEND school in Knowsley, England. You will help pupils with SLD, PMLD and autism, supporting learning, communication, independence and wellbeing, under the guidance of teachers and therapists.

This role is Monday to Friday, term-time only, 08:30–15:30, with training and ongoing career development in SEND education. You will assist with personal care, prepare resources, support during trips, and help post-16 pupils

Responsabilités

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis
  • Deliver planned learning activities and adapt support to individual needs
  • Assist with personal care, including toileting, dressing and eating
  • Support therapy programmes and administer medication following training
  • Encourage communication using Makaton, PECS and assistive technology
  • Promote social, emotional, physical and cognitive development
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
  • Support positive behaviour strategies and physical intervention where trained
  • Prepare classroom resources and maintain a stimulating environment
  • Support pupils during snack times, outdoor learning, trips and off-site activities
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, parents and external professionals
  • Support Post-16 pupils in developing independent living skills

A specialist SEND school is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Additional Needs Support Assistant to support pupils with SLD, PMLD and autism.

The Role:

You'll help pupils overcome barriers to learning while supporting their communication, development, independence, social skills and emotional wellbeing in a safe, nurturing environment.

Working alongside teachers, therapists and other professionals, you will:

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis
