Job summary
Aspire People are recruiting experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils across specialist and mainstream schools in the United Kingdom. The role focuses on dedicated 1:1 and small-group support, assisting pupils with autism, ADHD, communication needs and learning difficulties, and helping access personalised learning with individual strategies.
You'll work closely with teachers and SENCOs, support emotional regulation and behaviour, promote independence, and aid safeguarding.
Qualifications
- Professional experience working with children or young people with SEND.
- Previous experience within a specialist SEND school or specialist provision.
- Strong 1:1 support experience.
- Confident supporting pupils with complex or additional needs.
- Understanding of safeguarding and positive behaviour strategies.
Responsibilities
- Providing dedicated 1:1 and small-group support
- Supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, communication needs and learning difficulties
- Working with pupils who require personalised learning and support strategies
- Supporting emotional regulation, behaviour and social development
- Assisting pupils to access learning and develop independence
- Implementing individual support plans and strategies
- Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and wider support teams
- Supporting personal care where required
