Job summary

Milk Education is working in partnership with a 5-19 SEND school in South Shields to recruit a SEND Support Assistant to work with teenagers with SEND in a specialist environment. You will provide 1:1 and small group support, adapting activities to individual needs and building trusting relationships to help pupils feel supported and capable.

The role runs 8.30am-3.30pm, Monday to Friday, start ASAP, with CPD opportunities through Milk Academy and APSCo-aligned safeguarding standards, ensuring a

Qualifications

• Recent experience in an educational setting is desirable.
• Solid numeracy and literacy skills.
• Calm, patient and empathetic approach to learners.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEND.
• Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language, SEMH.
• Adapt activities to meet individual learning needs.
• Build positive relationships to encourage engagement, confidence and resilience.
• Collaborate with SENDCo and teachers to implement learning strategies.
• Promote a calm, inclusive learning environment where every student can succeed.
