Daily Rate: £89 – £108 (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist setting in Sunderland, seeking a dedicated and resilient SEND Support Assistant. This rewarding role involves working with children and young people who require additional support due to a range of needs including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication difficulties.
Working closely with individual pupils to help them stay focused and engaged in lessons
Providing practical and emotional support throughout the school day
Adapting tasks to meet pupils’ learning styles and developmental levels
Promoting independence, self-esteem and positive behaviour
Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes
Someone with a patient, empathetic and adaptable nature
Previous experience supporting SEND children (in school or care settings preferred)
A team player who’s confident using their initiative
An understanding of the challenges faced by children with additional needs
Willingness to undertake any necessary training (Team Teach, Safeguarding, etc.)
Weekly pay through PAYE – no umbrella fees
Ongoing access to SEND-specific training and development
A dedicated consultant to guide and support you

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
