Job summary

Long Term Futures is recruiting a SEND Specialist Teaching Assistant for a Radford, Coventry primary school. You will support pupils across Reception to Year 4, delivering 1:1 and small group interventions within the SEN Hub and work with the SEN Teacher to meet EHCP targets.

The role requires Level 2/3 qualifications in Supporting Teaching and Learning, prior SEN experience, and a calm, patient approach. You’ll help pupils access learning with visual strategies, structured routines and

Qualifications

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school setting.
  • Skills in ASD, ADHD, SLCN and SEMH.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils across Reception, Year 3 and Year 4 within the SEND Hub.
  • Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions.
  • Work alongside the SEN Teacher and SEND team to implement EHCP targets.
  • Promote communication, independence and social development.
  • Use visual strategies, structured routines and positive behaviour management to support engagement.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and the SENCO.

Long Term Futures are seeking a caring, patient and dedicated SEND Specialist Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Radford, Coventry.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within the school's specialist SEN Hub, supporting pupils across Reception, Year 3 and Year 4. Working as part of an experienced team of Teaching Assistants and an SEN Teacher, you will provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them access learning and achieve their full potential.

What the school is looking for:
  • Qualifications: Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent).
  • Experience: Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school setting.
  • Skills: Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN) and SEMH.
  • Knowledge: A good understanding of EHCPs, adapting learning to individual needs, and delivering targeted interventions.
