Job summary

Long Term Futures Ltd in Coventry seeks a SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for pupils with complex needs across EYFS to KS2. You will work within a specialist SEN provision, using Makaton/PECS and structured routines to support learning and emotional regulation.

The role requires experience with autism and SEMH, strong communication, and resilience to support pupils with challenging behaviour in a nurturing, multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting pupils with Autism, SEMH and communication needs.
  • Experience in a primary school or specialist SEN setting.
  • Knowledge or experience of using Makaton and PECS communication systems.
  • Behaviour management training such as Team Teach, Positive Handling or Attention Autism is desirable.
  • Confident supporting pupils who may present with challenging behaviour.
  • Patient, resilient and passionate about making a positive difference to children's lives.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Weekly Pay: £500 - £525
Working Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Start Date: 1st September 2026
Contract: Long‑Term | Temp‑to‑Perm Opportunity
