Job summary

Warwickshire County Council is seeking an experienced teacher with strong mainstream and SEND expertise to join the traded Specialist Teaching Service. The role focuses on supporting schools to meet the needs of children and young people with SEND and to build confidence, capacity and inclusive practice.

You will work with schools and staff, deliver training, influence leaders, empower families, and thrive in a high‑pressure, deadline‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with degree level and SEND training or progression toward one.
• Extensive experience with learners with SEND in mainstream settings.
• Ability to deliver SEND training to school staff.
• Experience collaborating with schools to build inclusive practice.

Responsibilities

• Support schools to increase staff knowledge and confidence in meeting SEND needs.
• Deliver training to primary and secondary staff on SEND topics.
• Influence and support senior leaders to implement evidence-based SEND practices.
• Empower families and service users in planning and support.
• Work flexibly in a high‑pressure environment to meet deadlines.
