Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting a dedicated SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a UK primary school. You will work 1:1 and in small groups to help children overcome barriers to learning and build confidence.

The role requires recent UK school experience, resilience, calmness, and excellent relationship-building with pupils and staff. Aspire People offers specialist SEND/SEMH opportunities, long-term placements, and dedicated consultant support.

Qualifications

  • Recent experience working within a UK school.
  • Previous SEND and/or SEMH experience.
  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach.
  • Strong behaviour management skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building abilities.
  • Genuine passion for inclusive education.

Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group SEND support
  • Supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and communication needs
  • Helping children with emotional and sensory regulation
  • Implementing agreed behaviour and support strategies
  • Delivering targeted interventions
  • Supporting pupils during lessons and unstructured times
  • Working closely with teachers and SENCOs
  • Encouraging independence and confidence

SEND & SEMH Teaching Assistant - Primary School

Do you have experience supporting children with SEND and/or SEMH needs and want a role where you can make a genuine difference?

Aspire People are recruiting a dedicated SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistant to work within a supportive primary school environment.

The role would suit someone who is confident supporting pupils with additional needs and understands the importance of consistency, patience, and strong relationships when helping children overcome barriers to learning.

The Role:
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group SEND support
  • Supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and communication needs
  • Helping children with emotional and sensory regulation
  • Implementing agreed behaviour and support strategies
  • Delivering targeted interventions
  • Supporting pupils during lessons and unstructured times
  • Working closely with teachers and SENCOs
