Job summary

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust in Knowsley is seeking a SEND Assistant Practitioner / Nurse Associate to join the SEND School Health team, providing clinical care in schools and supporting health programmes for children and young people.

Hours are 8.30am-4.30pm, 3 days per week during term time, with flexible working and emphasis on safeguarding, collaboration with families, and partnership with voluntary and statutory agencies.

Qualifications

• Caring for children with urinary catheters, enteral feeds, and medication requirements.
• Awareness of tracheostomy and stoma care.
• Ability to respond to emergency situations and contribute to care plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care within the school environment for children and young people with varying needs.
• Contribute to holistic assessments and health promotion under the Healthy Child Programme.
• Support safeguarding and collaboration with partner agencies.
• Promote health and wellbeing, reduce health inequalities, and participate in training of staff.
