Job summary

Liverpool City Council is seeking an experienced SEND Quality Assurance Lead on a 14-month fixed term basis to provide maternity cover from November 2026. The role focuses on strengthening quality assurance, practice improvement and performance across Liverpool's SEND system.

The successful candidate will work with Head of SEND and Inclusion colleagues to develop and deliver audit activity, identify learning and drive improvements that improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND.

Qualifications

• Experience of working within education and/or SEND services.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate SEND audit and quality assurance activity
• Analyse findings and translate these into improvement actions, learning and development
• Support managers and practitioners to develop a shared understanding of excellent practice
• Monitor the effectiveness of Education, Health and Care (EHC) planning and wider SEND services
• Produce high-quality reports, identify themes and recommendations, and support delivery of improvement plans
• Work collaboratively with partners across education, health, social care and safeguarding services
