Job summary

Aspire People are seeking a SEND Primary Teacher for a specialist primary provision in Oldham, supporting learners with ASC, MLD, SLD, SLCN and more. You will deliver differentiated lessons, collaborate with therapists and staff, and focus on progression, independence and social development.

The role emphasizes inclusive practice, strong relationships with families and a commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare within a specialist setting.

Qualifications

  • Hold QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching children with SEN.
  • Strong understanding of differentiated teaching and inclusive practice.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and classroom management skills.
  • Patient, resilient, adaptable and passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
  • Experience in specialist settings or SEND responsibilities is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Develop and implement personalised learning strategies to support student progress.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with Teaching Assistants, therapists, and external professionals.
  • Monitor, assess and record pupil progress against EHCP targets.
  • Support pupils' communication, social development and independence skills.
  • Manage behaviour positively through effective relationship-building.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.
