Qualifications

  • Experience teaching across a wide range of learners from early years through primary.
  • Experience teaching core Maths and English.
  • Supporting delivery of other curriculum areas.

Job Details
  • Job Title: SEND Primary Teacher
  • Location: The Holden School, Leigh WN7 4SB
  • Salary: Up to £37,000.00 per annum dependent on experience and qualifications (not pro rata)
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Tuesday 8.30am - 4.30pm, rest of week 8.30am - 4.00pm
  • Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only
  • Note: UK applicants only. This role does not offer sponsorship.

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Primary SEND Teacher to join our close-knit team at The Holden School, part of Acorn Education.

As a Primary SEND Teacher, you will take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of the school curriculum in a way that maximises pupils’ achievement and ability to develop. You should be calm, engaging, resilient, and have an innovative teaching style, motivated by helping every pupil reach their potential.

Essential Requirements
  • Degree in relevant subject
  • PGCE or equivalent
  • UK QTS (Fully qualified teachers only - not suitable for ECTs)
  • Experience teaching across a wide range of learners from early years through primary
  • Experience teaching core Maths and English
  • Supporting delivery of other curriculum areas
Skills & Knowledge
  • Teaching students aged 7 and above, from EYFS to KS2 levels
  • Core subject knowledge & experience
  • Planning & delivery of lessons
  • Evidencing student work
  • Monitoring progress with regular marking & feedback
  • Confident and creative teaching approach
Additional Duties
  • Managing student timetables and needs
  • Drafting and updating Individual Learning Plans (ILPs)
  • Attending EHCP reviews and providing progress reports
  • Other duties as requested by the head of school
