Job summary

New Directions Group is seeking an experienced SEND Classroom Teacher to join a specialist provision in a primary school in Warrington. You will plan and deliver adaptive teaching for pupils with EHCPs, many of whom have Autism Spectrum Condition and complex learning needs.

The role focuses on personalised learning, multi-sensory approaches and collaboration with families and external professionals to support wellbeing and progress.

Qualifications

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching pupils with SEND, ideally including ASC and complex learning needs.
• Strong understanding of EHCP outcomes, personalised learning, adaptive teaching and inclusive classroom practice.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver adaptive teaching for primary-aged pupils with EHCPs.
• Develop and deliver a bespoke sensory curriculum using pupils' sensory profiles.
• Use evidence-informed strategies and assistive technology to support communication, engagement, learning and development.
• Monitor, assess and record pupil progress, adapting teaching through assess–plan–do–review.
• Create a safe, structured and nurturing classroom environment supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Build positive relationships with parents and carers and collaborate with external professionals to support pupils’ wellbeing and progress, including contributing to EHCP reviews.
• Support safeguarding procedures and promote the welfare of all pupils, maintaining high professional standards at all times.
