Job summary

Yorkshire Rose College in Doncaster seeks a passionate Accredited and Non-Accredited Maths and English Tutor to join its SEND provision. You will deliver high-quality learning for students with SEND, plan personalised learning, and support progression towards adulthood.

The role involves collaboration with staff, monitoring progress, and contributing to curriculum development while upholding safeguarding and inclusion principles. Closing date 1 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, young people or adults with SEND.
• Able to work as part of a team and communicate clearly.
• Experience teaching maths and/or English to small groups, including direction of support staff.
• Setting and achieving SMART targets.
• Ability to provide information in report format.
• Commitment to safeguarding, equality and diversity and health and safety at the college.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality accredited and non-accredited English and maths teaching to SEND students.
• Plan and deliver inclusive, engaging learning reflecting EHCP outcomes and progression paths.
• Assess, monitor, report on student progress and outcomes, taking timely action.
• Create a positive, supportive learning environment promoting independence and high expectations.
• Develop and adapt learning resources and use technology to meet diverse needs.
• Collaborate with Education Support Workers, therapists and wider college staff to support students.
• Undertake tutorials, contribute to EHCP Reviews and support students' next steps.
• Deliver the wider curriculum requirements (Personal Development, British Values, Prevent) in line with college expectations.
• Contribute to curriculum development, quality assurance, moderation and admin duties.
• Maintain compliance with college policies including safeguarding and health and safety.
• Participate in meetings, CPD and college initiatives for ongoing improvement.
• Undertake other duties commensurate with the role.
