Job summary

Great Dunmow Primary School is seeking a SEND LSA to work 1:1 with a pupil with learning and speech and language needs. This 17.5-hour-per-week, fixed-term role runs during school terms until 31 August 2027, with morning sessions 8:30am–12pm and an additional lunch duty 12–1pm for extra pay.

The successful candidate will have GCSEs in English and Maths and ideally an LSA qualification, with experience of supporting pupils with SEND.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in English and Maths; LSA qualification preferred.
• Experience in one-to-one support for pupils with SEND.
• Patient, positive attitude with good humour.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with class teacher to support identified pupil's progress.
• Keep up to date with changes in education relevant to the role.
• Collaborate with colleagues to deliver learning activities.

The Governors of Great Dunmow Primary school are seeking to appoint a SEND LSA to work 1:1 with a child with learning and speech and language needs. Experience of working with pupils with SEND is preferred. We are a friendly, happy and caring school and are looking for a candidate who will contribute to our very effective learning environment.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Educated to GCSE level in English and Maths and if possible, a relevant LSA training qualification
• Experience in working 1:1 with children with additional needs
• A patient and positive attitude, along with a good sense of humour
• Good communication skills, patience and being motivated to encourage pupils to achieve to the best of their ability

You will be expected to:

• Work closely with the class teacher to ensure progress of identified pupils
• Keep up to date with changes and developments in education relevant to the role
• Work in collaboration with other colleagues
