Job summary

Morgan Hunt is partnering with a prestigious further education college in London to recruit an experienced SEND Lecturer for a full-time temporary role.

The post focuses on delivering differentiated learning for learners with high needs and PMLD, coordinating with the support team, and contributing to EHCP reviews and safeguarding. Immediate start and interview date ASAP.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching in educational settings, ideally FE or college.
• Qualified teacher with PGCE, Cert Ed or DTLLS (or willingness to obtain).
• Enhanced DBS on update service (Child and Adult).

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated learning programmes for learners with high needs and PMLD.
• Develop learners' communication, independence, confidence and life skills alongside academic/vocational development.
• Work closely with Learning Support Assistants, therapists, parents/carers and other professionals. Monitor, assess and record learner progress against EHCP targets and outcomes.
• Use appropriate communication strategies and sensory approaches to support engagement. Promote positive behaviour and maintain a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Support learners with personal development, wellbeing and preparation for adulthood. Contribute to EHCP reviews and multidisciplinary meetings.
• Maintain accurate learner records and comply with safeguarding, health & safety and college policies; adapt provision based on progress and feedback.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated learning programmes for learners with high needs and PMLD. Adapt teaching, activities and resources to meet individual learning needs and abilities.
• Develop learners' communication, independence, confidence and life skills alongside their academic/vocational development.
• Work closely with Learning Support Assistants, therapists, parents/carers and other professionals. Monitor, assess and record learner progress against individual targets and EHCP outcomes.

Requirements

• Teaching experience within an educational or FE Colleges.
• Teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent, or willingness to work towards one.
• Must have Enhanced Child and Adult DBS on the update service.
