Job summary

Reed is seeking a SEND Lecturer to join a specialist provision at Barra Hall, Uxbridge. This role involves delivering inclusive learning programmes for learners with SEN across Entry Levels 1 to 3, including English & Maths Functional Skills, Life and Living Skills, Horticulture, Retail and Employability.

This part-time, temporary role is 4 days per week with an opportunity to extend and progress to permanent employment.

Qualifications

  • Qualified teaching qualification required (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent).
  • Experience teaching learners with SEND.
  • Experience delivering Functional Skills English and Maths.
  • Strong classroom management and learner engagement skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching across Entry Level 1 to Entry Level 3 programmes.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Functional Skills English and Maths.
  • Support learners in developing life and living skills, independence, and preparation for adulthood.
  • Deliver employability-focused learning, helping students develop workplace and social skills.
  • Teach vocational subjects including Retail and Horticulture.
  • Differentiate learning activities to meet individual learner needs and EHCP outcomes.
  • Monitor, assess, and record learner progress, providing ongoing feedback and support.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment that promotes learner engagement and achievement.
  • Work collaboratively with Learning Support Assistants, curriculum teams, families, and external professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, equality, diversity, and health and safety policies.

Pay: £35+ per hour (Inclusive of Holiday pay)

Job Type: 4 Days per Week (Temporary on going / extension & going permanent)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEND Lecturer to join a specialist provision in Barra Hall, Uxbridge. This rewarding role involves delivering engaging and inclusive learning programmes for learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across Entry Levels 1 to 3.

You will support learners in developing essential academic, personal, and employability skills through a varied curriculum, including English & Maths Functional Skills, Life and Living Skills, Horticulture, Retail, and Employability programmes.
