Job summary

Morgan Hunt is delighted to be assisting a prestigious further education college in London to recruit an experienced SEND Lecturer on a temporary, full-time basis.

The role is based in North London, offers a pay rate of up to £36 per hour and requires delivering differentiated learning, EHCPs, and collaboration with support staff.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated learning programmes for learners with high needs and PMLD.
• Develop learners' communication, independence, confidence and life skills alongside their academic/vocational development.
• Work with Learning Support Assistants, therapists, parents/carers and other professionals to monitor progress and EHCP outcomes.
• Use appropriate communication strategies and sensory approaches to support engagement and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Support learners with personal development and preparation for adulthood; contribute to reviews and multidisciplinary meetings.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated learning programmes for learners with high needs and PMLD. Adapt teaching, activities and resources to meet individual learning needs and abilities.
• Develop learners' communication, independence, confidence and life skills alongside their academic/vocational development.
• Work closely with Learning Support Assistants, therapists, parents/carers and other professionals. Monitor, assess and record learner progress against individual targets and EHCP outcomes.
• Use appropriate communication strategies and sensory approaches to support engagement. Promote positive behaviour and maintain a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Support learners with personal development, wellbeing and preparation for adulthood. Contribute to reviews, EHCP planning and multidisciplinary meetings where required.
• Maintain accurate learner records and comply with safeguarding, health & safety and college policies. Continually adapt provision based on learner progress, needs and feedback..

Requirements

• Teaching experience within an educational or FE Colleges.
• Teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent, or willingness to work towards one.
• Must have Enhanced Child and Adult DBS on the update service.
