Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a compassionate and experienced SEND Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in BD16, Bingley. This role involves 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND, including providing personal care where required.

We are looking for caring, patient individuals with experience supporting children or young people with complex needs, who can build strong relationships and remain calm in challenging situations.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
• Experience providing personal care.
• Caring, patient and resilient with a genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs.
• Able to build positive relationships and remain calm in challenging situations.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, proactive and committed to supporting pupils consistently.
• Experience with Autism, PMLD, communication needs, sensory needs or complex learning difficulties would be advantageous.
• Available to work full-time from September 2026.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of SEND.
• Support pupils with their learning, communication, independence and emotional development.
• Provide personal care, including toileting and intimate care, where required.
• Support pupils with complex learning and developmental needs.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Use appropriate communication, sensory and behavioural strategies.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Work closely with teachers and other support staff to meet individual needs.
• Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
