Job summary

Philip Morant School and College in Colchester is seeking a Learning Support Assistant. The role supports learners with SEND in class and interventions, acting as a key worker, and arranging withdrawal interventions.

The position is part-time (30 hours/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30–15:00) for 39 weeks per year including term time and non-pupil days. Training and CPD opportunities are available within the Sigma Trust.

Qualifications

• Recent experience working with children in a learning environment.
• Ability to apply various behaviour management policies to create a purposeful learning environment.
• Completion of appropriate SEN training or willingness to undertake training.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support to individuals or small groups with SEND.
• Act as a key worker, supporting identified students across SEND needs.
• Assist in planning withdrawal interventions.
• Complete Individual Plans and Pupil Passports with students and parents.
