Job summary

TeacherActive Limited is seeking a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant for Basildon to support pupils with additional needs throughout the school day. The role involves one-to-one and small-group support, helping pupils with learning, communication and engagement, and assisting the class teacher with differentiated activities.

You will help pupils develop confidence, independence and social skills, support emotional regulation and behaviour when required, and follow individual support

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or adults with additional needs.
• Patient, caring and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Willingness to get involved throughout the school day.

Responsibilities

• Providing one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with additional needs
• Supporting pupils with their learning, communication and engagement
• Assisting the class teacher with differentiated classroom activities
• Helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and social skills
• Supporting pupils with their emotional regulation and behaviour where required
• Following individual support plans and strategies
• Creating a calm, positive and safe learning environment
• Working closely with teachers, SEND professionals and other support staff
• Supporting pupils with personal care where required
