TeacherActive Ltd is recruiting a SEND Learning Support Assistant for a specialist school in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, to support pupils aged 8–18 with ASC, MLD, SLD and SEMH needs. The role offers a nurturing environment with small classes and strong pastoral support.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, help deliver differentiated lessons, and promote emotional regulation using trauma-informed approaches. Start after October half-term; full-time, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND, SEMH or challenging behaviour.
• Understanding of autism, learning difficulties and trauma-informed approaches.
• Patient, resilient and compassionate with strong relationship-building skills.

Responsabilités

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with autism, learning difficulties and SEMH needs.
• Support pupils who may have experienced trauma or disrupted education.
• Help pupils manage emotions and develop positive behaviours and engagement with education.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons.
• Use trauma-informed and positive behaviour strategies to promote emotional regulation.
