Job summary

Justteachers Ltd is seeking a dedicated SEND Support Assistant to work across classes in a welcoming special school near Boston. You will help deliver differentiated activities and use communication tools like PECS or Makaton to support pupils with wide-ranging needs.

Role offers both full-time and part-time opportunities starting ASAP, with training and a nurturing environment to help learners develop communication, independence and confidence.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND in schools, care settings or similar environments.
• Understanding of MLD and PMLD and adaptation of approaches for individual learners.
• Confidence using varied support strategies including communication methods and structured routines.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of differentiated and sensory-adapted learning activities with teaching staff.
• Reinforce communication, engagement and developmental skills for pupils to access learning.
• Use PECS or Makaton and visual aids to encourage participation and maintain engagement.
• Provide calm, consistent support to help pupils regulate emotions and return to learning.
