Job summary

St George's School in Newport is seeking a full-time Learning Support Assistant to work with students who have High Needs and SEND, including those with SEMH, medical needs and complex behaviours. The role involves 1-2-1 and small group mentoring, supporting staff, and contributing to tailored programmes within a supportive team.

You will undertake specialist training as required, uphold safeguarding, and help create a creative learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with High Needs/SEND in areas such as SEMH, medical support, autism or challenging behaviour.
• Demonstrates personal resilience and a strong safeguarding ethos.
• Willingness to undertake any specialist training as required.

Responsibilities

• 1-2-1 and small group mentoring with students.
• Support planning and delivery of activities within areas.
• Assist with complex medical interventions and related training as needed.
