Job summary

Monarch Education is recruiting a compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in the United Kingdom. You will support children and young people with a range of complex needs, helping them access learning and develop independence.

The role focuses on 1:1 and small group support, collaboration with teachers and therapists, and contributing to a nurturing, safe environment that promotes positive behaviours and personal development.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND or additional needs.
• Understanding of Autism, complex learning difficulties or communication needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, caring and resilient approach.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children and young people.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex additional needs.
• Support students with learning, communication and social development.
• Deliver personalised learning activities and therapeutic interventions; encourage independence and participation.
• Support pupils with sensory, emotional and behavioural needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other staff.
• Support pupils with personal care where required.
• Promote a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
