Job summary

Tick Education Limited is seeking Learning Support Assistants in Bedford to support students with SEND in a classroom setting during school hours. You will provide targeted support to individuals or small groups to help students access lessons and participate fully in activities.

The role requires a calm, patient presence, clear communication, and a willingness to learn. A DBS update or willingness to obtain one is expected, with adherence to safeguarding policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 months experience working with children.
• Experience with students with SEND.
• Updated enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
• Calm and patient presence with clear communication.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Relevant qualifications in education or healthcare would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEND.
• Assist with planning and delivery of lessons and activities, adapting to individual needs.
• Support students with personal care tasks when necessary.
• Liaise with teachers and other professionals to meet students' needs.
• Help create a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
• Monitor progress and behaviour, giving feedback to teachers.
