Job summary

Colmore Education Recruitment Ltd is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work in a specialist setting in Tamworth, supporting pupils with ASC and diverse learning needs. You will help with communication, emotional regulation and social development, both in 1:1 and small group contexts.

Qualifications

Learning Support Assistant – SEN / ASC

Location: Tamworth
Job Type: Full-Time, Long-Term
Start Date: ASAP

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist educational setting in Tamworth that supports pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and a range of additional learning needs.

The Role
  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis.
  • Working closely with students with ASC and additional learning needs.
  • Supporting communication, emotional regulation and social development.
  • Assisting with classroom activities and tailored learning programmes.
  • Encouraging engagement, confidence and independence.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and supporting students throughout the school day.
  • Working alongside teachers and support staff to meet individual needs.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working within SEN, education, care, support work or a similar setting is desirable.
  • Experience supporting individuals with ASC or additional needs is advantageous.
  • A patient, nurturing and resilient approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs.
  • Available to work full-time and start as soon as possible.
