Job summary

PK Education is seeking a SEN Specialist Support Assistant for a friendly SEND school in South Birmingham. The role is term-time only with hours 8:30am–3:30pm, and it is a full-time, permanent position located on site.

You will support students across the curriculum, deliver targeted interventions, and help create a positive, inclusive learning environment where every pupil can thrive and progress in their academic and personal development.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant.
• Experience working with children with special educational needs.
• Desirable: TA qualification or relevant degree.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging and meaningful learning.
• Support pupils with reading, writing, and classwork.
• Lead and deliver targeted interventions to support development.
• Work 1:1 and in small groups to provide personalised support.
• Assist with behaviour management in a nurturing and positive way.
• Observe pupils and contribute to learning records.
• Develop your curriculum knowledge as the school grows.
• Help shape classroom routines and contribute to our evolving school culture.
