Job summary

MidKent College is seeking a Learning Mentor on a fixed term maternity cover at the Gillingham Campus. The role is 29.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, with pro rata salary to reflect hours.

You will plan and deliver workshops for students with additional learning needs, work with ALS/Enhance teams, support EHCP outcomes, and coordinate with teachers, parents and external agencies to promote inclusion and student success.

Qualifications

• Plan and deliver workshops for students with additional learning needs to support their success.
• Work with ALS/Enhance Team Leaders, Programme Coordinators, Transition Coordinators and Enrichment Team to plan and deliver activities for students with EHCPs.
• This role is 29.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, salary pro rata to hours worked.
• This position is maternity cover until April 2027.

Responsibilities

• Plan, facilitate and deliver tailored workshops and 1:1 support for students with SEND.
• Facilitate target setting using EHCP outcomes and attend reviews.
• Liaise with Teachers and Learning Support Assistants to track progress and set targets.
• Utilise and develop learning resources, including assistive technology and online/remote learning resources.
• Review and implement interventions to develop student confidence and self-esteem.
• Assess progress and report on impact of interventions over time.
• Support pre-enrolment processes to identify student needs.
• Liaise with Parents/Carers, College staff and external agencies for coherent support.
• Be the main contact for students and families during key points of the year, including PCARs.
• Promote ALS/Enhance team within curriculum areas.
