Job summary

Bolton Council’s Virtual School seeks an experienced SEND Lead to improve outcomes for children with SEND who have a social worker. You will advise, guide and directly support schools, social workers, carers and partner agencies, managing a caseload and tracking progress through PEP meetings.

You will hold a teaching qualification with QTS, bring SENCO expertise, and work to prevent exclusion while promoting inclusive practice and strong collaboration across professionals.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with QTS and SENCO experience.
• Strong understanding of SEND Code of Practice and safeguarding.
• Ability to analyse information and write high-quality reports.

Responsibilities

• Hold a caseload of children and monitor progress via PEP meetings.
• Promote inclusive practice and prevent exclusion or disengagement from education.
• Collaborate with schools, social workers, carers and partner agencies to secure outcomes.
