Job summary

Kirklees College is seeking a Job Coach based in Dewsbury to support young people with SEND into employment. You’ll visit learners on placements, apply job coaching techniques and collaborate with colleagues to grow opportunities for students.

Applicants should have a Level 2 in literacy and numeracy plus extensive experience with learners with learning difficulties and disabilities, including ASD. The role is 37 hours per week, term-time, at Springfield Sixth Form Centre.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 in literacy and numeracy.
• Experience with students with learning difficulties and disabilities including ASD.
• Experience with employers and external stakeholders.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

Responsibilities

• Visit young people with SEND on their work placements and use job coaching techniques to support development.
• Work predominantly in Dewsbury at Springfield Sixth Form Centre, alongside another job coach, a work placement officer and a curriculum lead.
• Support and develop students with SEND to achieve employment outcomes.
• Engage with external stakeholders and employers to create work placement opportunities.
