Capital City College in London is seeking a SEND Job Coach to support and drive key operational functions, helping shape the future of education. This full-time fixed-term role ends on 9 July 2027 and focuses on enabling young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities to achieve paid employment.

You will coach interns, help source placements, reinforce employability skills, and work with the Project Search Instructor on Maths, English and Employability workshops.

Qualifications

  • Reliable and motivated individual delivering excellent service.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and working with young people.
  • Willingness to support learners with disabilities in work placements.

Responsabilités

  • To support students on a day-to-day basis on their work placements.
  • Source appropriate placements for students that meet their needs and where possible, is within their preferred job industry. If possible, such placements should be likely to lead to paid employment when the internship ceases.
  • Through work performance evaluations, demonstrate a solid working knowledge of most frequently encountered barriers for the students and the ability to provide specific, quality service for them.
  • To reinforce employability skills learnt in class and to help students to understand protocols and interpret work culture. Ensure students understand the health and safety in the work environments and adopt appropriate workplace behaviour.
  • To coach interns in the essential tasks/duties/core skills of the job. Because the goal is independence, the Job Coach builds natural supports (mentors within the workplace) and reduces the amount of time spent with each student as core skills are developed
  • To support Project Search Instructor in delivery of Maths, English and Employability workshops.

About the Role

This role is offered on a full-time, fixed term basis. The contract will be ending on the 9 th of July 2027.

To enable young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities to achieve sustainable, paid employment by equipping them with the skills they need for work through learning in the workplace.

To support interns in the workplace, provide the necessary coaching, training and encouragement to enable them to succeed.

About You
