Job summary

Mayflower Community Academy in Plymouth is seeking an IMF SEND, Inclusion & Engagement Assistant to support SEND and family engagement across the school community. Working under SENDCOs and leaders, you will gather pupil voice, share inclusive communications and maintain records of IMF-funded activity.

You will build relationships with pupils, families and external partners and promote SEND initiatives via websites and social media, contributing to a culture of inclusion and learning everyone

Qualifications

• Good understanding of SEND, inclusion and safeguarding/confidentiality.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families, colleagues and external partners.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Organised, accurate and able to manage routine tasks effectively.
• Can use initiative within established procedures and guidance.
• Commitment to inclusion, dignity and belonging for all children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Support engagement with pupils, families and staff by gathering feedback, pupil voice and examples of inclusive practice.
• Help families understand and access available SEND, inclusion and community opportunities.
• Prepare and share clear and accessible communications using agreed content and templates.
• Maintain accurate records, case studies and evidence of IMF-funded activity.
• Support the promotion of SEND and inclusion initiatives through websites, social media and other communication channels.
• Develop links with services and community partners that enhance support for children, young people and families.
• Assist SENDCOs with the collation of information that demonstrates the impact of inclusion and engagement activities.
