Job summary

Ford Primary School in Plymouth is seeking a caring SEND Teaching Assistant and Targeted Intervention Assistant to support pupils with SEND and deliver targeted literacy, numeracy and wellbeing programmes.

You will work closely with the SENDCo and teaching staff, building positive relationships with children and families while monitoring progress and maintaining records. The role emphasizes safeguarding and inclusive practice within a welcoming school community.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEND to access learning and participate fully.
• Deliver structured intervention programmes for literacy, numeracy, communication, emotional wellbeing and learning behaviours.
• Promote pupil confidence, independence and inclusion.
• Support positive behaviour and emotional development.
• Monitor progress and maintain accurate records.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents and external professionals where appropriate.
