We are working exclusively with a specialist secondary school in Hulme that is looking for someone to join their team as a HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) as soon as possible.
The school seeks an enthusiastic support staff member. The department is very strong, and successful candidates will receive exceptional training to support their role. They are looking for professionals with some experience supporting children and a genuine desire to help deliver exceptional learning experiences for pupils.
You need experience in delivering interventions such as speech and language, reading, etc. There is an emphasis on targeted SEND learning interventions, supporting both universal groups and individual students.
You will also be expected to work 1-1 with students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, and lead some small group sessions. The pupils are aged 11-16 (KS3/4), all with EHCP plans and additional needs, attending a specialist provision.
Your role involves building connections with students, acting as a mentor and role model, and forging strong relationships to overcome classroom barriers.
This position is suitable for someone pursuing a career in education, planning to undertake a PGCE, or with recent experience as a tutor/intervention lead. The role starts as soon as possible and is expected to last for the current academic year.
