We are working exclusively with a specialist Secondary school in Chorlton who are looking for someone to join their team as a HLTA; higher level teaching assistant.
The school is seeking an enthusiastic support staff member to join their team. The department is very strong, and successful candidates will receive exceptional training to support them in their role. They are looking for professionals with some experience in supporting children and a genuine desire to help staff deliver exceptional learning experiences for pupils.
You need experience in delivering interventions such as speech and language, reading, etc. There is an emphasis on delivering targeted SEND learning interventions, supporting intervention at universal, targeted groups, and individual levels.
You will also be expected to work 1-1 with students who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, as well as leading small group sessions. The school caters to pupils with educational plans to receive education in a specialist setting due to their learning needs.
The pupils are aged 11-16 years old (KS3/4), all with EHCP plans and additional needs.
Your role is to build connections with the young people, acting as a mentor and role model to overcome barriers in the classroom. The role entails forging strong relationships with pupils.
This position would suit someone looking to pursue a career in education, embark on a PGCE, or someone with recent experience working as a tutor/intervention lead. The role will start as soon as possible and, if successful, will continue for the rest of the current academic year.
