Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a SEND English Teacher for a permanent, full-time role in Rochdale, starting Monday 14th September 2026. This position supports students aged 11-19 with complex learning needs, including autism, in a progressive specialist setting.

You will deliver tailored lessons across KS2–KS4, differentiate to meet EHCP outcomes, and work with the SENCO and staff to ensure a consistent, nurturing approach that helps every student reach their potential.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent is required.
• Experience teaching in SEN settings is required or strong SEN knowledge in a mainstream environment.
• Calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to classroom management.
• Passion for inclusive education and supporting each child's progress.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, tailored teaching to pupils across KS2–KS4.

Salary: 1,000- 1,450 per week (dependent on experience and responsibilities)
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

What We're Looking For:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching in an SEN setting (or strong SEN knowledge within a mainstream environment)
• A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to classroom management
• Passion for inclusive education and a commitment to nurturing every child's progress

To be eligible you must:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service OR be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references
