Job summary

Salt College is seeking an experienced SEND Co-ordinator to lead and coordinate SEND and EHCP processes across the College. You will oversee consultations, annual reviews, enrolment and progression, ensuring documentation is accurate and compliant.

You will manage transitions, liaise with families and Local Authorities, and maintain audit-ready records. Strong organisational and communication skills are essential, with a focus on safeguarding and inclusion throughout the learner journey.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people with SEND in an educational setting.
• Experience of EHCP administration and annual review processes.
• Strong knowledge of SEND statutory processes and safeguarding.
• Excellent organisational, administrative and communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and statutory deadlines accurately.
• Confidence working with learners, families, Local Authorities and other professionals.
• Maths and English at Level 2 or above.

Responsibilities

• Manage EHCP consultations, annual reviews and statutory deadlines, ensuring documentation is accurate and submitted on time.
• Review EHCPs and professional reports, coordinate information from relevant teams and ensure provision is understood, implemented and monitored.
• Coordinate transition and enrolment of learners with SEND, including visits, assessments and liaison with families.
• Maintain accurate and audit-ready SEND records, Provision Plans and trackers.
• Monitor learner progress against EHCP outcomes and coordinate additional support or professional involvement.
• Act as a key contact for learners, parents/carers, Local Authorities and external professionals.
• Support progression and Preparing for Adulthood planning, SEND QA, funding assurance and inspection activity.
• Promote safeguarding, inclusion and learner welfare in a safe College environment.
