Job summary

Dovetail & Slate is seeking an experienced Interim Curriculum Manager to lead Foundation Learning and SEND provision in East London within the FE sector. The role focuses on high-quality teaching, learner outcomes and curriculum improvement, with responsibility for staffing, timetabling and quality assurance.

You will drive data-informed improvement, oversee safeguarding, and collaborate with stakeholders, parents and external agencies, while teaching 7–12 hours weekly.

Qualifications

  • Curriculum management experience within Further Education is essential.
  • Experience leading SEND, Foundation Learning, Supported Learning or similar FE provision.
  • Experience managing and developing teaching staff.
  • A full teaching qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of inclusive curriculum delivery and learner support.
  • Experience supporting learners with SEND/EHCPs and complex needs.
  • Strong understanding of quality improvement and FE KPIs.
  • A proven ability to improve learner outcomes.

Interim Curriculum Manager - Foundation Learning / SEND

Are you an experienced FE Curriculum Manager with a background in SEND, Foundation Learning or Supported Learning?

We are currently supporting an FE college in East London to appoint an experienced Interim Curriculum Manager - Foundation Learning/SEND.

The Role

You will lead and manage Foundation Learning and SEND provision, ensuring high-quality teaching, strong learner outcomes and continuous curriculum improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing Foundation Learning/SEND programmes
  • Line managing and developing teaching staff
  • Driving recruitment, retention, achievement, attendance and progression
  • Leading curriculum planning, quality assurance and improvement
  • Monitoring learner progress, behaviour and safeguarding
  • Managing curriculum resources, staffing and timetabling
  • Working with stakeholders, parents/carers and external agencies

About You
