Job summary

Dovetail and Slate is seeking an experienced Interim Curriculum Manager for Foundation Learning/SEND in East London. You will lead and manage Foundation Learning and SEND provision, drive curriculum quality, and support learners with SEND and complex needs while overseeing staff development and performance.

The role focuses on improving learner outcomes, coordinating curriculum planning, QA processes, and working with stakeholders to ensure high standards.

Qualifications

• FE curriculum management experience is essential.
• Experience leading SEND, Foundation Learning, Supported Learning or similar FE provision.
• Strong ability to manage and develop teaching staff.
• Solid knowledge of inclusive curriculum delivery and learner support.
• Proven track record of improving learner outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Foundation Learning and SEND provision to ensure high-quality teaching and outcomes.
• Line manage and develop teaching staff.
• Drive recruitment, retention, achievement, attendance and progression.
• Oversee curriculum planning, quality assurance and improvement.
• Monitor learner progress, behaviour and safeguarding.
• Manage curriculum resources, staffing and timetabling.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, parents/carers and external agencies.
• Use data and KPIs to drive performance and improvement.
• Support quality improvement planning and self-assessment.
• Teach approximately 7-12 hours per week.

Are you an experienced FE Curriculum Manager with a background in SEND, Foundation Learning or Supported Learning?

We are currently supporting an FE college in East London to appoint an experienced Interim Curriculum Manager - Foundation Learning/SEND.

The Role

You will lead and manage Foundation Learning and SEND provision, ensuring high-quality teaching, strong learner outcomes and continuous curriculum improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and managing Foundation Learning/SEND programmes
• Line managing and developing teaching staff
• Driving recruitment, retention, achievement, attendance and progression
• Leading curriculum planning, quality assurance and improvement
• Monitoring learner progress, behaviour and safeguarding
• Managing curriculum resources, staffing and timetabling
• Working with stakeholders, parents/carers and external agencies
• Using data and KPIs to drive performance and improvement
• Supporting quality improvement planning and self-assessment
• Teaching approximately 7-12 hours per week

About You

Curriculum management experience within Further Education is essential.

You will also have:
