You will act as the main point of contact for parents, carers, and young people engaging in the Education, Health and Care (EHC) assessment process, co-ordinating statutory assessments and reviews for children and young people aged 0–25. Responsibilities include preparing and facilitating meaningful reviews of EHC Plans, ensuring compliance with the statutory timetable under Part 3 of the Children and Families Act 2014, attending mediation sessions, and supporting managers at SENDIST Tribunal hearings.
You will work closely with families, schools, and a wide range of partners across education, health, social care, and the voluntary sector, whilst maintaining accurate electronic records and upholding GDPR and data protection obligations. You will also mentor and support less experienced EHCP Co-ordinators.
Essential requirements include a degree-level qualification, detailed knowledge of Part 3 of the Children and Families Act 2014 and SENDIST Tribunal procedure, and demonstrable experience working with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities, leading multi‑agency meetings, and writing person‑centred plans. Teaching, SENCO qualifications, or relevant CPD are desirable.
