Job summary

Saxon Hill Academy, part of Shaw Education Trust, is seeking a Welfare and Care Assistant to support pupils with SEND. You will assist with personal care and classroom activities, working alongside teaching staff and other support professionals. Training is provided, with a focus on developing skills in caring for children with complex needs.

Interviews are planned for 1st October 2026. The role offers a fixed-term contract, with benefits aligned to local government and education staff

Qualifications

• Experience in providing personal care and supporting children with additional needs.
• Ability to work with teaching staff and other professionals to support pupils.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training and development.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal and physical care, including feeding and changing.
• Support pupils in classroom activities and during community-based experiences.
• Work closely with staff to implement tailored learning and care plans.
